“ Super fresh seafood from local fisheries, sold in a family business by locals; this is what America is all about. Best seafood market on the Long Beach Island period. Worth the drive from Holgate or Barnegat Light. Make it a point to check this place out. *************************************** Updating review- 8 years later and still loving it!! Can't wait for them to open again for the season in a few weeks. I recently moved from N Jersey to S Jersey and will drive the half hour from the mainland to get all my seafood. Don't really eat too much seafood when they're not open.. Will be good to see y'all again!!! ”
“ Great quality food on a very simple classic seafood market atmosphere. There’s even a sign that reads “good seafood isn’t cheap and cheap seafood isn’t good” and I wouldn’t be shocked if the guy behind the counter was out on a boat that morning. Crab cakes were great quality, lots of meat without a lot of filler. Stuffed clams were nice and flavorful and very well priced. And the key lime pie that they are apparently very well known for lives up to its reputation. Will definitely be back. ”
“ Seaside seafood market that allow you to buy local scallops, grab 2 lbs of steamers, or lobster, oyster, shrimps, fishes and go back to your beach house DIY dinner is really great. ”
“ We explored some of the other fish markets on the island before deciding to get the ingredients for our annual vacation seafood feast here. It was our first time spending a week on LBI so we did our research! Not only was the selection at Blue Claw the best, but the quality and prices were as well. Soft shelled crabs priced two dollars less a piece than another place we found them! We got the soft shells, shrimp, stuffed clams, coleslaw and 100 middle necks. Can I say not a single broken clam and every single one opened beautifully and was delicious! No sand and all we did was rinse them off. Service at the counter was excellent with several employees jumping to help with our large order. They even cleaned the crabs for us no extra charge. We will definitely be returning to LBI and Blue Claw! ”
“ Best place to get fresh fish and especially blue crabs. We have been ordering from Blue Claw for at least 7 years now! ”
“ I'm so glad I found this place. I can't wait to go back. Got pumpkin swordfish (which I had never even heard of), scallops, and tuna. All 3 were incredible. Prices are reasonable for what you get. And the service was outstanding as well ”
“ Great fresh seafood. Key lime pie? I really love a good key lime pie. Saw one in the cooler and the girl behind the counter told us it was home made - her home. So we bought one and brought it home. I can tell you that we have vacationed on the east coast from Maine to Florida and this, hands down, is one of the best key lime pies we’ve ever had. Should have bought two to bring back home to upstate NY. ”
“ Best seafood on the island and the mainland, as far we we're concerned. We usually go for the salmon, tuna, halibut, swordfish and shrimp - super fresh and top quality each and every time. Those are our personal seafood prefrences, but everything always looks fresh. Do not leave without the delicious key lime pie, if there are any left! Homemade and best we've every tasted. Freezes well too! ”
